I rent cars frequently and they always ask if there will be any other drivers. If you say no, any other driver is not covered. You should check with your insurance company to see if they will provide coverage now. if you didn't get the renters insurance then if goes back on your insurance. If you have full coverage on your own car then you prolly have renter;s insurance from your own company. just take the car back and they will work it out. most time the rentor has some type of insurance or yours pays. Did you take renters insurance when renting the car? Did you list your wife as a driver when renting? Most car renters will call your insurance before renting you the car for proper coverage. Contact your insurance and the renter before you panic.
Save yourself and add her. If she is on your insurance I don't think they cover it. Do yourself a favor and buy the extra insurance and if it gets totaled they bring you a new one its only a dollar or 2 more. hope this helps
Did you pay to put the spouse on the insurance? If not you are in a heap 'o trouble boy. They are quite clear, if I remember rightly, about who can drive and who can't.
