yes talk to a lawyerIs there a law about abandment? Are you able to file for Divorce after a long seperation from your spouse? How
Call the County Clerks office where you live and have them mail you the petition for divorce. There will be a filing fee to submit this into the Court once you have filled everything out. On those forms will ask you all these kind of questions, reason for divorce, ect. After you pay the filing fee and get your court date, you can appear infront of the judge and the court will decide it. Depending on what kind of assets you have or debt incurred during the marriage, children, ect, a laywer can help you address these things so they are included in the final order. Take care.
When my brother was going thru his divorce and could not locate his estranged wife his divorce lawyer said that he (brother) would have to post an ad in the local newspaper where she was believed to live for 30 days stating his intentions and where he could be located in case she read the article. if after 30 days no response from her he could move on with the divorce process.
Yes, I don't know the name of the law or its exact wording but there is such a thing as abandonment. I think it could be as little as 6 month but don't quote me on it. I supposed there are excemptions to extenuating circumtances like if he is over seas in the arm forces or is kidnapp somewhere. But yes, if he left you you can file for divorce plus also ask for child support and all the other rights you are entitle to.

I do know its possible. I'm just not entirely sure of the whole procedure. You'll definatly have to take it to a lawyer and have some kind of court date. It can cost you at least a couple thousand. I know this cuz my Mom is finally ABLE to give up the $. She was a single parent with 4 kids and now we are all between 20 and 25 and my father has been out of the picture for the past 20 years. Good luck to you Honey!
