Why are prison inmates allowed to have 2 day visits from there spouse,in a apartment on prison property.?

In my opinon,they gave up the right to have sex when they were found guilty of a crime.Why are prison inmates allowed to have 2 day visits from there spouse,in a apartment on prison property.?
The vast majority of all inmates will someday leave the prison. Conjugal visitation is one way to attempt to maintain social/familial ties so there will be a support system upon release. It is also an incentive for behavioral management and control within the prison because it is a reward for good behavior and can be taken away if the inmate acts up.Why are prison inmates allowed to have 2 day visits from there spouse,in a apartment on prison property.?
Gave up the right to have sex? It's not a privilege to have sex. Does the prison want inmates who are angry because they can't be with their wives/girlfriends 3 times a year or do they want more complacent inmates? Who is really being punished when inmates are denied sex with their partners?

EXAMPLE:


Pretty much in all prisons there is a 1 to 5 ratio of Guards to Cellmates. Now if those cellmates arent pleased in at least some way then they could possibly riot.





Or they could all turn gay and have massive orgies in the prison yard.
as the previous poster pointed out, it cuts down on prison rape and prision violence. It also gives the prisoners another incentive to behave--not everyone gets or is allowed conjugal visits.
This is one of those things where you're d*****d if you do and d*****d if


you don't.


I DO think that prisoners might be more violent if not given conjugal visits.
My guess is that it's a legal extension of the ban on cruel and unusual punishment, like it or not.
Prisoners have more rights than citizens . People actually choose this way of life because its a free ride.



So that they can make more burdens on the Welfare system.
It cuts down on sodomy.
Cuz they love their Spouses :)
